Martin's point is located in Harris County, Texas, United States and is close to the shores of Galveston Bay at the inlet to the Houston ship channel near La Porte and Pasadena. The 2010 census put the population within the city at 339. It has earned fame in the history of Texas for being the home of the legendary Emily West (Morgan) which is also known as the yellow Rose of Texas. By the early 20th century, it became a Houston area resort community for the wealthy. Presently, thanks to the construction of the Barbours cut shipping terminal; it has become the center of one of the regions most important shipping hubs.
