Michael A. Pita

Personal Injury Attorney

Biography

Mike was raised in West Houston, attending Stratford High School before leaving for Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Showing an early desire to give back to his community, Mike worked as the youth director of a local Houston Church as well as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Northern California before attending Tulane Law School in New Orleans.

While in law school, Mike was a member of the Moot Court Board, where he won the Tulane Junior Appellate Competition and was a Finalist in the Junior Mock Trial Competition. He was also a member of the Order of the Barristers, received Honors in Trial Advocacy, and was named to Who’s Who Among American Law Students. Through these formative experiences, he developed a deep-rooted passion for litigation and trial advocacy.

Mike spent most of his career representing the interests of personal injury defendants and insurance companies before joining forces with the Thiessen Law Firm to represent victims of harmful negligence. He is passionate about the well-being of his clients and takes the time to get to know them personally. Because of his experience as an in-house defense attorney, he understands the inner workings of insurance companies, which he leverages to get the best results for his clients. Mike also has significant trial experience, having tried over 40 cases to verdict all over Texas in both federal and state courts.

In his free time, Mike supports his children’s dreams and passions on the stage and lacrosse field. He satisfies his competitive streak by boxing and playing tennis and continues to give back to his community as a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, where he serves as a leader in the youth program. Most important for Mike, however, is creating memories by traveling and spending time with his family.
